This hood tach wiring hardware kit is intended to make a reproduction or aftermarket hood-mounted tachometer appear factory correct. The kit includes three meter mounting screws, with two longer screws used for the upper portion of the meter mounting and one shorter screw used for the lower portion. Installation requires removal of the incorrect screws and drilling the aluminum plate mounting hole to 0.125 inch (1/8 inch) and the screw hole in the plastic housing to 0.152 inch (5/32 inch). The included wiring water boots are designed to seal and protect the tachometer wiring and may be installed by sliding them over the wires or by carefully slicing the boot lengthwise to install without disassembling the wiring. Adhesive may be used to seal the seam and secure the boot to the plastic connector if required. These details replicate the configuration used on factory-installed hood tachometers.
